Easter Weekend
I want to start with last Wednesday, when I took Stetson in for his first set of shots. I know, I am a little late, but better late than never. I have to say that it was probably harder on me than it was on him, as he is a very tough little guy, he only cried for about three minutes. As you can see, he was pretty impressed with his snoopy band-aids.
On Friday we went with my sister, Candice, her three kids, and four of my siblings to the Rec Center in Cortez. It was a lot of fun, especially at first because we were some of the only ones there. Stetson loved the water, and proved to be quite the little fish. His favorite activity was the lazy river, so we went round and round. It amazed me how relaxed he was in the water. Then, when we had to get out of the water for ten minutes, he went right to sleep!
Saturday afternoon we drove down to San Juan Hill. It's pretty sad that I have lived here almost all my life, and have never been there! We met my family down at the Riverhouse Ruins. I am a typical first-time mom, and forgot to bring sunscreen, or a hat, or anything else to protect my baby from the sun. My mom, however, is a very experienced mom. She got a paper towel and some yarn from her truck and made Stetson a little hat. He looked so cute - and he didn't get sunburned. He did get a little too much air, followed by a tummy ache. Since Kenny had already hiked up San Juan Hill, he tended Stetson in the car while I hiked up with my family. It is really amazing to think that the pioneers made it up that hill with horses and wagons! I am sure they had some help from above.
Sunday just happened to be my birthday, along with Easter. Kenny made us a yummy breakfast, and Stetson found his Easter basket. He was more impressed with the basket than anything that was in it! After church we had a wonderful dinner with all of my family. Overall, it was a great weekend! Happy Easter!

McKady
Last Saturday Stetson and I went to the final JO Volleyball Tournament of the season where my sister McKady played on a team called the M&Ms. They didn't win, but it was so much fun to watch them play and see how much they have improved this year. This was McKady's first year playing volleyball, and she did awesome. And if you think she looks like an awesome volleyball player - you should watch her dance!

Saying Goodbye
Last month Kenny's parents, Pete and Charlotte Black, received their mission call to the Ghana, Cape Coast Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Despite the name of the mission, they won't actually be serving in Ghana. They will be serving in a nearby country called Benin. This country was dedicated for missionary service last year, so it is very new! There are only 130 members in the whole country, so Mom and Dad will have plenty to do! We are all going to miss them so much, but are excited for them, and grateful for their example and willingness to serve the Lord. They have been tending Stetson for 4 hours each day while mom is at work, so he has gotten pretty attached - he is going to miss Grandma and Grandpa Black. All their kids were able to come to Blanding for their meeting, so we had a great weekend playing, eating, and visiting. Elder Pete and Sister Charlotte Black entered the MTC on March 10, 2008. Look out Benin!
