With a new baby coming soon, we decided it was time to forge ahead with our plans for remodeling our upstairs. We went back and forth for a long time on whether or not to add on to our little abode, and finally decided that instead of building an addition, we would just make better use of the space we had. So. . . we decided to put two dormers on the back side of our house. One will be made into a bathroom that will hook on to our bedroom to complete the master suite, and the other will make a larger room that we plan to use as a family room with a t.v., couches, and a big toy box for the kids. This way, the middle upstairs room can be made into an office/sewing room, and the two downstairs bedrooms will be for the kids. As Kenny and I are both super busy, and this is a pretty BIG project, we decided to hire our brother-in-law Steve and his crew to do it for us. They have made a lot of progress already, and plan to be done by April! I am so excited!!!
The back of the house BEFORE the work began
The next step was a HUGE hole in the roof - why did we decide to do this in the middle of winter???
And there it is, our first dormer in all it's glory! This one will be our master suite - yay!
It has been so fun to watch the project, especially when we got back after being gone for a week! These guys are doing a great job! I will keep you posted on the progress. . .
